We’re releasing Sourcegraph 2.6b today! This is a minor release that includes a few bug fixes and improvements. Check out the changelog below for more details.

Changes in Sourcegraph Series 2.6b

Sourcegraph Series 2.6b Highlights

In this release, we’ve made a bunch of performance improvements, including:
– Significant speedups for the GraphQL query processor
– Improvements to the memory usage of our search engine
– Improved rendering of large graphs

We also added a few new features, including support for custom fields in projects and trees, as well as an easier way to add contributors to a project. Check out the full list of changes below:

Improvements to the Sourcegraph Platform

The Sourcegraph Platform has seen improvements in December 2018, including the addition of support for GraphQL and React. We’ve also made a number of enhancements to our data ingestion, analysis and reporting capabilities.

Here are the key updates:

1. Sourcegraph now supports GraphQL and ReactJS

React is a popular library for building user interfaces in modern web applications. GraphQL is a query language for retrieving data from an API. Together, these two technologies allow you to build more expressive and efficient applications.

2. Improved data ingestion and analysis

Sourcegraph has been improved to make it easier to load data into your graphs. First, we’ve added support for loading data from JSON files. Second, we’ve developed a new schema management tool that makes it easy to define the structure of your datasets and manage changes over time. This ensures that your data can be loaded quickly and accurately no matter how complex it is.

3. Faster reporting with new charts and dashboards

Updates to the Sourcegraph App

We’re excited to announce some updates to the Sourcegraph App!

1. You now have the option to add any Git repository as a source for your code analysis. This includes repositories from your own organization and public repos like GitHub.

2. You can also analyze code in files outside of Git, including Markdown and text files with extensions like .txt or .md.

3. We’ve added support for React, Angular, and Vue components, along with a new Code Quality report that breaks down code quality metrics for each library.

4. Finally, we’ve made it easier to access your sourcegraph history and compare different versions of a file.

Experimental Features in Sourcegraph Series 2.6b

Sourcegraph Series 2.6b is now available and includes a number of experimental features that we hope you’ll find useful.

One new experimental feature is the ability to add comments to code snippets in the editor. Simply drag and drop a comment box on top of the relevant code block, and start typing! The comment will appear below the code block, and you can continue editing the comment as if it were part of the code itself.

Another new experimental feature is inline diffs. You can now compare changes between different versions of a file without having to open each version in its own editor window. To enable inline diffs, go to File -> Versioning -> Inline Diffs, and select the files you want to compare. The differences between these versions will then be displayed inline in your editor window.

Finally, we’ve added support for source control headers that contain line numbers instead of text content. This enables you to use source control tools like Git or Mercurial with Sourcegraph without needing to convert your source files into text format first. To enable line number support, go to Settings -> Editor -> Source Control Headers and select the headers you want to include in your source control index.
