Why PWA Development Is the Future?

It’s actually quite difficult to answer this question. For now, let’s say this:

Progressive Web Apps (PWA) is a hybrid app or website that runs on any platform, on any device. Learn more about PWA development services here: https://dinarys.com/pwa-development.

We will try to explain this not very good definition.

Now, there are a plethora of gadgets that may be used to communicate with our organization, but the ways of engagement can be categorized into two broad categories:

  • Websites;
  • Apps for mobile devices.

Websites are well-known, and they account for the majority of corporate and user communications. Sites have recently grown more comfortable to use in practically every situation and on almost any device, but there is one major drawback: an inconsistent communication route under mobile situations.

Everything appears to be in order, however, there is no website if there is no online. Working with a website can hardly be described as comfortable if the Internet connection speed leaps and varies rapidly from tens of megabits per second to a few kilobits per second. Remember how you used to surf websites while riding in a metro car or on a train? Mobile applications are meant to be immune to this flaw, yet even here, developers overlook the fact that the user may not have access to the Internet.

However, developing and, more importantly, maintaining the application through time and between platforms is not a simple process. As a result, we have another foolish application from the “for the show” group, with a value that tends to zero. You might also consider the inability of mobile applications to operate on the desktop, which is frequently required.

Progressive Web Apps (PWA) were created to address these issues by combining these two huge sets of communication mechanisms into a single large one. This is what you can say: Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are a means to create apps that leverage the Web stack (HTML, CSS, and JS) and adhere to three key principles:

  1. No need for a network connection – it operates without it.
  2. Responsiveness and speed – a speedy reaction to user inputs.
  3. Native view – the device interface’s ideology is intact.

PWA stands for Progressive Web Applications

In simple terms, a PWA is a site that a user can add to their phone’s desktop and interact with it offline.

And if we complicate it a little, then PWA is a group of applications that are built on the basic Web technology stack (JS + HTML + CSS) and allows you to simplify interaction with the site to the level of a native mobile application. The main task of the technology is to increase the conversion of the page, to simplify the interaction with the mobile user.

PWA technology is an extension of AMP. Moreover, AMP pages can be “pumped” to Progressive Web Applications standards.

Typical PWA requirements:

  1. Responsiveness – work correctly on any device
  2. Offline – When using the Service Worker, the application must run offline
  3. Convenience – the user should be comfortable interacting with the application on their device
  4. Security – there must be protection against interception and data spoofing
  5. Ease of installation – the user should be able to install the PWA site on their device in a couple of clicks
  6. Cross-platform-development technology does not depend on the platform (android or IOS).

Why PWA for Business?

Research shows that users are now very reluctant to put full-fledged applications on their devices.

That is why Progressive Web Applications has a great future, both for e-commerce and for large news portals. Moreover, the introduction of technology gives amazing results!

PWA Application Example

  • AliExpress uses PWA and has increased conversion by about 104%.
  • Konga has optimized their resource by reducing the amount of data initially loaded by 92%.
  • The Washington Post saw a 12 per cent boost in traffic to their stories after deploying PWA, which reduced upload times from 8 seconds to 80 milliseconds.

Concluding remarks

Progressive Web Apps, as we can see, combine sites and applications, blurring the lines between them.

We can design a handy service that works in every situation and on any platform using the PWA method.

Plugins will help you create a basic PWA application, but they will not fix all of the issues. You must carefully design and construct an excellent application yourself.

That, however, is a different tale…
