Which Laptop Should I Buy for My Home-Based Job?

There are a lot of options when it comes to buying a laptop, hence you don’t have to spend a fortune to get the perfect machine for your home-based job; you can get an affordable but good one.

If you’re looking for a laptop that can handle all your work tasks, as well as run some basic games and media applications, then you should be able to find exactly what you need for under $500.

The best laptops for home-based workers have the following qualities;

Good Laptop to Buy

A good laptop is one that can handle all your daily computing needs. It should be powerful enough to run all your applications, and yet light enough to carry around with you. It also needs long battery life and is durable so that it doesn’t break down easily.

RAM of a Laptop

If you’re planning to do a lot of video editing, or gaming at home, then you should consider getting a computer with high RAM. In case you’re wondering what RAM is, it’s the memory space where your computer stores instructions and data. The more RAM your computer has, the faster it can operate.

But if your home-based job doesn’t require you to do any heavy-duty tasks then 8GB of RAM is enough for your needs.

Affordable Laptop

A good laptop does not have to be expensive. There are many great laptops available for less than $500, which is well within most budgets.

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, consider getting a refurbished model from an authorized dealer or buying from an online retailer.

You can also get a laptop with decent graphics and plenty of storage space at this price point. You may not be able to play modern games on the highest settings, but if you don’t play games often and don’t need top-of-the-line graphics capabilities, then these machines will work just fine for your needs.

Processor Speed

Processors are important because they determine how fast your computer will be able to perform tasks such as programming, and video editing without lag time. The faster the processor speed is, the quicker these actions will take place.

Will Depend on your Home-Based Job

The right laptop for you depends on what you need to do with it. If you just want to surf the web, check email and take notes at home, then a simple one will work well enough. If you need to create more complex documents like spreadsheets or do programming, then a more powerful laptop is required.

However, it’s important not to base this decision solely on processor speed. You also need to take into consideration how many cores your processor has. The more cores your CPU has, the more work it can do at once, making it ideal for multitasking or running multiple programs at once without them slowing down each other’s performance too much.

Storage Space or Hard Disk

The more storage space on your laptop, the more data it can hold. If your job requires lots of storage space, say, if you’re running an online store; then getting one with at least 500GB of storage is probably best.

If not, 256GB should be enough. If you don’t know how much storage space you need yet (because your job is still in its infancy), then go with 256GB first and upgrade later if necessary.

Good Graphics Card

If you want to play video games or edit videos on your laptop, then you’ll need a good graphics card (or GPU).

Most laptops come with integrated graphics cards which are okay for basic tasks but aren’t powerful enough for more advanced home based jobs. Look for a laptop with an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050Ti or higher if you will be doing intensive jobs with it.

Long Battery Life

If you want to use your laptop away from the office, then look for one with long battery life so it can last all day without needing a recharge. That way, you can take it anywhere you’d like without worrying about running out of power before you’re ready to head home again.

A Good Keyboard

If you’re going to be typing a lot on your laptop, then it needs to have a good keyboard. The keys should be spaced evenly and there should be little or no flex when you type. A backlit keyboard is also useful if you plan on working late at night.

Backlit Keyboard

A backlit keyboard makes typing in dim lighting easier by illuminating each key with light from beneath its surface; this feature can also be useful when typing in low-light conditions such as on an airplane. Some keyboards have a separate light for the trackpad, which makes it easy to use your laptop in the dark without having to turn on an external light source.
